Lutheran Daily Office

Begin and end the day in prayer

Join the Church's daily prayer with psalms, Scripture, and the familiar words of Matins, Vespers, and Compline. Pray on your own, with your spouse, or gathered as a household.

Whether you have prayed the offices for years or are opening them for the first time, follow the service from its opening words to its closing blessing.

From morning prayer to Compline

Begin the day with Matins, pause for prayer at midday, and close with Vespers or Compline. Morning Prayer, Evening Prayer, and the Litany offer further ways to pray.

Psalms, Scripture, and prayer together

Follow the prayers and responses, read the appointed psalms, and open Scripture readings right within the office. Everything you need for that time of prayer is close at hand.

Make time for daily prayer

Choose your preferred offices in your Rule of Prayer and set reminders for the times you want to pray, whether on your own or with your household.

Scripture And Confessions

Read Scripture. Explore what Lutherans believe.

Spend time in God's Word and study the faith confessed in the Book of Concord. Move from a passage in the Confessions to the Scripture it cites, then continue reading right where you left off.

Keep a bookmark, highlight a passage, or add a note for your next study. Prefer another Bible translation? Choose your Bible app in Settings to open readings there.

Find a passage. Keep reading.

Enter a reference such as John 3:15 to go straight to the verse within its chapter. Search for a word or phrase, swipe to the next chapter, and save passages to revisit.

Explore the Lutheran Confessions
