Overview

Christ Lutheran Church is a confessional congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, serving the Wathena community with Christ-centered worship, teaching, and service. Rooted in the historic liturgy and the timeless truth of God’s Word, we gather around the gifts of Word and Sacrament each Sunday at 10:15 AM.Our congregation holds firmly to the central teachings of the Reformation:Grace Alone—Salvation is God’s free gift in Christ.Faith Alone—We are justified through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works.Scripture Alone—The Holy Scriptures are God’s inspired Word and the sole authority in matters of faith and life.Christ Lutheran also emphasizes the importance of Word and Sacrament ministry. We believe Baptism saves and incorporates believers into Christ’s Church, and we confess the real presence of Christ’s body and blood in the Lord’s Supper for the forgiveness of sins.In addition to Sunday worship, Christ Lutheran provides opportunities for Bible study, Christian education, and service in mercy and witness within the local community. We are committed to living together as the Body of Christ—gathered in worship, growing in faith, and serving our neighbors in Christ’s love.
